Action Poster- Robin Hood

This poster for the film  Robin hood is typical of a what you would expect from a modern action film poster with the main character Russell Crowe (Robin hood) taking the migratory of the poster, our hero is also injured also a convention of the action genre. the font on the other has is not what you typicaly expect to see on a film poster as they aim to make the film as noticeable as possible with the title being in a bold font.

The focal point of this poster is the face of the hero Crowe, the cut on his face is somewhat unconventional compared to other posters as they tend to show the hero as strong and invulnerable, but with the use of his arm being held out towards the camera allowing an eye line flow from his face along his arm and towards both the bow and arrow in his hand and the title of the film, allowing the audience an easy path to follow stopping any confusion.

there are two main fonts in use in the poster this is also unconventional to action films; where the font stays the same to stop the attraction being drawn away from the main picture to the font. The more assertive font in use is that being uses in the title  The font itself is that similar to times roman, this connotes a change in time period than the present it could also be harking back to the many Robin Hood films that use a similar font. The second font in question is that of the one giving information of the film and the cast, this is the most used of the font with it being used in 3 different location, this new more familiar font could connote the fact that it is a new story of Robin Hood not a remake of its predecessors. both of the two fonts in question are in white, which stands out among the dark background. white also connotes puirty, accepting this and applying it to the charecter in question you could come to the conclusion that this charecter who acording to ledgend was a criminal but "stole from the rich and gave to the poor" and so the white against the black background could conote the good intent in his bad actions.
