In what ways does my trailer remind me of other trailers?
firstly i feel the fast paced music that acts to mimic the hart beet is a constant theme in most trailers trying to excite the audience for example to you hear a similar thing in the new Carry trailer, this is not of the same genera but supernatural thriller hybrid, whereas you would expect something more solemn and emotional in trailers like The Great Gatsby and The Kings Speech to create a serious mood.
secondly the only peace of dialog spoken in the trailer is "if you hurt her i will kill you" this is similar to the Taken trailer where Liam Neeson makes his now famous speech and what many have argued as being the main reason why the film was more of a success after all its major releases then when it was in the cinema and so by combining this will other aspects of popular trailer it will maximize its gross profit.
lastly the fast changing locations and shots is something you could see in some of the James Bond trailers as they are famous for the exotic locations used and show this thought the trailer, the fast shots and also used to brake up the footage and to make sure the audience keeps on looking at the trailer otherwise they will not know what is happening.
What do you think are the strengths of my trailer?
The sound used in the trailer i feel is the best option for our trailer from the options i have previously blogged about, it builds tension at the optimum moment and but keep the same beet.
The questions asked in the trailer eg. "where would you go?" also i see as a strength as it engages the veiwer and helps put them in the mindset of our hero and also leaving a question wanting to be answered and to answer the question that would need to see the film.
The different shots uses, such as the cut to and from the people running to there feet i also see as a strength as it makes it look more professional as lots of angels and fasts cuts inbetwen theses are something you generally see in most film productions.
The opening institution that we chose also fits with our trailer and is a real strength to it, it is a big budget production company and also with the sniper sight and Universal blowing up straight away sets up the trailer as action.
What do you think are the weaknesses?
The background noise that can be herd in some of the footage could of been turned down in some of the scenes, this would let the sound of the wind not seem to overpowering when you watch the trailer.
In some of the footage filmed without a tripod and is reliant on a still hand you can see some slight movement which you would not see in a real trailer, this is something we tried to edit out but when looking back it can still be seen.
When the sound cuts out to allow the main character to speak i feel that the sound is turned down just a tad to much and the change is to drastic, but it dose allow you to really take note of what is being said.
