Taken |
Taken was
released as an 18 something that is rarely seen in the movies word today as it alienated
the a majority of people aged 15 to 24 that have the time and disposable income
to spend at the cinema, for an action film Taken also appealed to more female viewers
than another film audience profiling I have looked at with 46% this suggests
that there is something in this film that appeals to woman this will be
important for our group to find out and recreate as trying to appeal of woman
in an action film is very stereotypically hard to do. the film also appeals to
a wide range of people with it split equally around the social class groups
with the exception of C1 which are always the more dominant of the categorises
as well as this the film appeals to a wide range once you get above the ages of
12-14 which can be explained with the fact that it is an 18. when taking in to account
that the film wasn’t a commercial success and just made a profit the film
developed a cult following with most of its money being made is dvd sales after
the initial realise.

Lopper staring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis again
rated very highly among our target audience of 15-24 year olds but failed to
draw in the 25-34 audience possibly because Joseph Gordon-Levitt appeals to the
younger audience of 15-24 whereas Bruce Willis would appeal to the older
generation of 35-44, the second highest, as Bruce Willis is a very stereotypical
action hero from the diehard franchise, and so neglecting the 25-34 age group. Something
in our film we should learn form and try to draw in the 25-34 age group by
using characters that are well known throughout the age ranges. This film also
lacks female viewers but this is stereotypical to the genera with Taken as an
abnormality.

possible location
this i feel would be perfect to use for a scene it has just been cleaned here but with some leaves on the floor accompanied by the green on the fence and the tap on the all. This location would work better in the dark and if we manage to film missing out the window to create a abandoned effect.

mood board
1. The main character would be in a
suit, this would show his status and juxtapose with the character he will soon
become
2. The hero’s girlfriend will feature
minimally in the trailer but her being kidnapped in the catalyst that starts
the film of.
3. The house explosion will be filmed
using miniatures it will show the film to be high budget.
4. A gun will be used to conform to the
stereotype of all action films.
5. Knife will be used this will be one
of the first scenes to wound our hero.
6. Ideally our location would be in a
remote snowy location.
7. The close up of the fight scene will
allow us to make the scene shorter and easier to choreograph.
8. The contrast in lighting would work
to make the audience question if he is actually the good guy.
9. The extras in our film will mainly be dressed
the same and have similar characteristics.
10. Our main villain will be a
well-trained and smartly dressed.
11. A mid shot of the villain being
approached by the hero.
12. A shot of the damsel in distress
where we see her trying to escape.
13. Shot of man sleeping. Will be shown
at the very start of the film
14. Liam Neeson is a character similar to
our own, in the way that he will stop and nothing to get someone back.

possible footage - Spain
i shot like this i feel will really add something to our film as it is underwater, something that if edit correctly could be really effective in our action film. If we were to use a this shot it would be placed with a sequence of clips we would also focus on the movement out of the water and back under; showing a boat, as i feel that is the most important part in the film and also draws on the blue water.
i really like the rugged setting seen in this clip and it would highlight a very exotic location, if this was to be used it would need to been very edited and only use a few seconds of footage showing the water hitting the rocks, as the movement to the rocks is to shaky due to the fact i was holding a hand held camera and moving around the rocky tarain. The effect this shot gives for life been both beautiful and dangerous would be a good image to end our trailer on.
This panning shot of the cliffs was taken as the same location as the clip above and so we will ether use this piece or the one above due to the similarities in the shot and us not wanting our viewer to be bored.
another underwater shot, longer and a lot more movement in this shot making it hard to use. The aim was to try and capture some fish but there had just been a storm so there were non to be seen. I
personally prefer the first underwater shot shown and feel it would be more appropriate to an action genera.
